Lise-Lotte Loomer, founder and owner of partygreen celebrations, has seen in her own life a need for celebrating family gatherings without throwing things away at the end of the party. “It’s about finding a balance between saving precious time and wanting to raise a family in a world that will be sustainable for their future. We can all take small steps that together add up to something better for the environment.” At partygreen celebrations, those small steps are what we’ve built this company on: using home sewn cloth bags to “wrap” gifts, using vintage cloth, drying things on the clothes line, using locally sourced flowers, re-using all plates, cups and cutlery, re-using decorations instead of buying paper and plastic that will end up in the landfill at the end of the party.
Lise-Lotte has a degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria. Since she graduated she has made many positive contributions to the lives of young people from running playgroups, being a youth programs coordinator for ICBC to developing the pre-school program at Science World in Vancouver. Lise-Lotte has loved leading 13 girl guide groups with her daughters in the groups and always talks about how much she has learned from the girls and women that she has met through Girl Guides. Combining her 20 years of experience working with groups of teens, young children and families, as well as over 80 different parties of various types over the last 13 years, Lise-Lotte is excited to launch partygreen celebrations. It is a culmination of her experience and vision for the future. She continues to lead workshops for early childhood educators on such fun topics as Superheroes!
